Strike! While they are still unable to see us

Ballentine the Bird

I'VE FOUND ONE!!! Look! Until now the theory of giant internet images was based on composites of geography, and gigapixel photographs! Now we have evidence of new giant creatures birthed and surviving digitally! Look at her vibrant colors! I was fumbling through the stark white outskirts of browserspace when she flew into view. I'm not sure if she hasn't seen us yet or if she just trusts us, but you can get really really close! See for yourself!

I've named her Ballentine. Ballentine seems to be composed of thousands of one pixel-width lines, just like the hand artifacts I'd already discovered. Unlike the hand artifacts, in addition to black and white lines, Ballentine is also covered in red, yellow, and blue lines. This gives her the appearance of having a full spectrum of colors. When measured at computer display resolution (72 pixels per inch), she's over 20 feet tall and more than 30 feet long! That's like the size of a T-Rex!

Go on! Take a look! -->

Ballentine is being displayed using the OpenLayers open-source javascript API which is similar to the google maps API. I highly recommend using the MapTiler tool, though it is still in beta.
